How To Speed Up iPhone, iPad Wifi Connection With DNS Servers

Speed up Wifi Connection for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch with custom DNS. Having slow internet speed is something that I and you too avoid most, as we want to get where we wish as fastest as possible without delay or slow loading pages.

This situation is our most wanted, whether we are using PC or browsing with our mobile devices, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. And whether we are using Wi-fi or non-wifi network connections. We want fastness, no fussiness.

Therefore, in this post I would like to share a tips to speed up your slow Wi-Fi connection on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

The general culprit which causing this issue is related to wireless network changing. And to get out from this inconvenient slow Wifi connection to use custom DNS servers which are near to your domicile.

But you can also use the -- I think -- universal DNS serves that are proven reliable and Wifi connection boosters -- Google DNS Servers and OPen DNS Servers -- these are two DNS servers offered by me as solution and by many people.

You can try all of them to see which one that gives you speed most for iPhone and iPad Wifi connection. And this works for device older than A5, but it also said can work too for A5 devices. So have a try.

Here are the DNS servers.
  • Google DNS servers: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
  • OpenDNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
Here is how to add the DNS servers.
  • Go to Settings and then tap on WiFi.
  • Choose the network you like to place the custom DNS servers.
  • Click on the Numbers in DNS and type the custom DNS server.

However this just a rumor, don't take this 100% true, time will tell whether this one true or otherwise at the time Apple really announces the tablet. Until then take this one with grant and salt.

Apple Chooses Samsung And LG Display To Supply LCD Panels For iPad 3

Rumors and also contradiction reports come and go in welcoming the iPad 3 which is allegedly be released on March this year, not only the iPad 3 release date, the components within the tablet are consequently hot news too.

Recently according to Korean Electronics blog, Etnews, LG and Samsung are the chosen companies that will supply iPad LCD panels.

I thought there is something untoward in the relationship between Apple and Samsung...Sigh.

And Etnews gives more convincing statement that the news is already confirmed by their own industry source.

This has expunged the previous rumor that Sharp will be the LCD panels supplier. Etnews added, the Sharp has failed in initial supply, albeit the company was the first one on the list to develop display panels.

Sharp was proven failed to pass Apple's approval process when it came for mass production. Therefore its two contender -- Samsung and LG Display claimed the victory over the iPad 3 display panels development and supply.

iPad 3 Is Currently Manufactured For March Shipments

A recent report from Japanese famous blog, Macotakara, saying that iPad 3 is currently manufactured by the two largest Taiwan electronic components companies -- Pegatron and Foxconn.

And Foxconn is chosen to supply 85% of iPad 3 electronic components.

Macotakara added that Sharp will be taking care of iPad 3 zinc oxide display panel, this one has confirmed the previous post about iPad 3 release date that also mentions the involvement of Sharp in making of iPad 3.

As for its design, there is no detailed information on that, unless it's allegedly thinner than iPad 2 to dispose of complains of iPad is thicker and heavier than Transfomer Prime and Kindle Fire.

This, however, a speculation and its accuracy is decided on the launch date of the tablet itself.

iPad 3 Release Date

The iPad 3 release date is allegedly to be in March this year, but of course this is just a speculation and originally we can refer to DigiTimes as the first source that brought this issue.

But it does make sense though considering it's been almost a year since the second generation of iPad being released, if the speculation is true, then it would make the iPad 3 release date a year length from its big brother, iPad 2.

Let alone the existing competition among computer tablets on the market is getting hot and hot everyday.

iPad 3 Release
And if the iPad 3 is released in March, that will add more hot fire to the existing competition in Computer tablet market against the ASUS Transformer Eee Tablet that's released this year and Amazon Kindle Fire who have been managed to steal Android fans.

And DigiTimes says -- from its Apply's supply chain tipster -- that iPad 3 will use an indium gallium zinc oxide display panel manufactured by Sharp.

And it is also said the table will be thicker to brings retina screen. However some critics have spot a complain saying that the iPad is thicker and heavier compared to its contender, like Transformer Prime and Kindle Fire, so there is a chance the iPad 3 will be thinner than the 2 DigiTimes added.

After all the speculations and allegations put on our tablet, all we can do is waiting for the exact and official iPad 3 release data from Apple.

Siri for iPad and iPad 3?

As I previously mentioned on my iOS 5.0.1 beta 3 post that more hidden secrets will be uncovered along with tireless and immediate delving of developers who got their hand on this developer version iOS.

Just in and still hot, 9ToMac has disclosed -- or precisely speculated -- a thing that will be liked much by the upcoming iPad 3 owner, Siri for iPad 3.

Siri for iPad and iPad 3?

Albeit it is regarded containing less new features or lack of hints, iOS 5.1 beta apparently still has something interesting to deal with.

Along with its tipster, namely Sonny Dickson, 9toMac while digging deeper into the newly released iOS firmware to find iPad settings application, instead they discovered a fresh area in called "About Privacy and Dictation." in the keyboard division. (Click the image on the right of your screen for bigger screen).

So perhaps this will be an iOS 5.1 launch feature for the iPad, or it may be an iPad 3-exclusive feature; a similar process to the iPhone 4S exclusively gaining Siri and Siri Dictation support in iOS 5.0. We’re also hearing this link/document is also appearing on retina iPod touches as well.
