This is the latest news concerning Android ICS update for the Original Transformer TF101, sorry to say this looks like you are going to wait more times for ICS to roll out to your TF101, as I just receive the news via the ASUS official Facebook saying their company is currently waiting an approval from Google.

The ICS appeal for your device is under approval process, and the company is promising soon it's granted they will immediately push it out for TF101.

Listen With Facebook New Feature

Facebook rolled out another and new feature that will likely will be liked by you, this new feature named Listen With, the name is self-explanatory, with it you can listen music with Facebook's friends.

It is not applicable worldwide yet, but it will be in the next few weeks according Facebook.

To start using the feature once it's applied, simply point your eyes at Music Note on your online friends on the chat sidebar list.

And then hover your friend's name that is listening music. Then a small popup window will appear showing the song's name he or she is listening to, plus a button called: Listen With (your friend's name).

Facebook Smartphone "Buffy" Based On Android

Remember over a year a go, Facebook is issued to build a Smartphone by TechCrunch Mike Arrington, later on through their spokesman Jaime Schopflin, Facebook denied building a smartphone. However Arrington offered another possibility that the social networking company is not building a hardware of the phone -- that job is handed to the third party manufacturer -- but they are working on the phone's software like Google with Nexus Phone.

And it looks like the company really is planning to build a smartphone, teaming up with HTC and the device is expected to be launched in 2013.

It is reported that the device they are working on is named "Buffy", taken the name of  the vampire slayer TV series, played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. And it will use an Android's modified version as its operating system.

And likely we will be seeing Facebook's service integration with HTML 5 support in this modified version.

However Buffy is not a pioneer smartphone that is set with deep integration of Facebook service. Giant technology companies like Motoroal, Inq Mobile and HTC have preceded it with dedicated FB features bundled.

Adobe Product Manager Explains Why They Stop Mobile Flash Project

Few Days a go, Adobe officially announced that their company will not continue its work on mobile Flash player. For many people the announcement was not really surprising. Initially Apple was probably the first company who stop using Flash on its mobile devices since 2007.

And Mr. Steve Jobs had explained in many occasions -- one of which is thoughts of flash letter -- why Apple will no longer offer Flash compatibility in all their products.

However to clear the confusion as to why Adobe discontinue their project, Mike Chambers, Adobe Principal Product Manager decided to blog about it clear the confusion.

In his blog's post, Chambers explains several reasons that make Adobe failed to catch with mobile device technology. HTML 5, Hardware fragmentation were ones of the aspects. Apple is included too as the aspect who is probably encouraged the company to end their desire for mobile browser campaign.

“This one should be pretty apparent, but given the fragmentation of the mobile market, and the fact that one of the leading mobile platforms (Apple’s iOS) was not going to allow the Flash Player in the browser, the Flash Player was not on track to reach anywhere near the ubiquity of the Flash Player on desktops.

Just to be very clear on this. No matter what we did, the Flash Player was not going to be available on Apple’s iOS anytime in the foreseeable future.”

People welcome Adobe's decision in the various responses. Some were happy about it, says that the absence of Flash will avoid battery drainage to their phone caused by Flash.

Google Earth Got New Rival, China Map World

China Map World. Google Earth got a new rival now namely, Map World, China's version of the online satellite mapping service. Map World is designed solely to compete Google Earth technology and also to provide the same service to residents of China. This is also a response from China Government for Google's delay on applying the license to provide its mapping service in the mainland.

It is China's State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (SBSM) who created and announced "Map World" two days ago and the official China online mapping service can be accessed via www.tianditu.cn and www.chinaonmap.cn

"In the near future, Map World will flourish to be a famous Chinese brand for online map services with proven reliability," Xu Deming, director of the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, was quoted as saying.

China selected the Great Wall of China with cloud above it as the homepage interface. And the preparation of the service took about two years including taking all the satellite images from 2006 to 2010, according Jiang Jie, the database department director of National Geomatics Center

Jiang further say that Map World and its website are still at a preliminary stage, still need a additional infrastructures, for example it only has 80 virtual machines to handle 10 million daily requests, while Google Earth has thousands of virtual machines.

"Our map service is expected to update the geological data about twice a year, but Google Earth can update its information every couple of minutes, through satellites," Jiang said.

Looks like there won't be "peace" between Google and China, after China is allegedly launched hacking attacks toward Google services last year, which caused Google to withdrew its search engine service and directed to Google Hong Kong.
