Install Or Flash Leaked Ice Cream Sandwich ROM To Sony Xperia Play

As always a happy news comes from XDA forum developer, this time you can install a leaked Ice Cream Sandwich ROM to your Sony Xperia Play, then taste its sweetness but of course with several limitations within. But hey, it is still a good news for those who want to work and play with this ROM.

As I mentioned concerning limitations mean that few bugs will exist and few areas of your device will not work either, like camera , unable to save GSM Data APN, there are number of apps are failed to get root access.

But it is understandable for alpha release of ROM comes with issues but a future update is expected to squash them all for good.

But you will get these features as equal gifts offered by this leaked ROM:

• Prerooted with superuser and busybox installed
• included ICS bootanimation

• included libs for baseband compatibility (will only work on -64 baseband, the once from .62 firmware)

Step 1: Download the zip update ROM file and store it to your SDCARD.
Step 2: Download DooMkernel.
Step 3: Flash the kernel using the following command:

fastboot flash boot boot.img

Step 4: And reboot your device via fastboot with this command:

fastboot reboot

Step 5: You device will reboot then show my kernel logo.
Step 6: Repeatedly press BACK button when you see the blue LED lights appears.
Step 7: Now you are in the my modded recovery.
Step 8: Flash the ROMs update.zip -- you downloaded from step 1-- this will take about a two or three minute.
Step 9:  Again reboot your device, now it will be rebooting into Ice Cream Sandwich!
Step 10: Be patient, since it is its first time rebooting with ICS, thus takes time, eat something then!
