There is an app in Android market that you can try to increase your Android device screen resolution by force. The app I am talking about is LCD Resolution and it is available on the Android Market for free. The app will force your Android to be using difference of screen resolutions in order to give you the pixel density.
However to use this app you need to firstly rooted your Android device and with Android Gingerbread running. It is not recommended for Ice Cream device, from what I read from users reviews, they are complaining their Ice Cream Sandwich device's ICS keyboard got ruined because of it.
