Google Nexus S is not going to be the only devices runs on Android Gingerbread, at least officially, as the latest Android OS version has been ported to other devices consecutively before (read Gingerbread Ported To Samsung Galaxy S and HTC HD2), because the Gingerbread code has been placed to AOSP repository recently for the developers out there to build stable ROMS from Android 2.3 and download the code to their devices.
Of course we put a big expectation that the built ROM will be purely what Gingerbread offers, not just we have seen from the unofficial ones who are actually Froyo with handful features of Gingerbread into it.
Surely this is a wonderful news to manufactures who are outside Android market, and hackers who want to get their hand on the mobile OS to create wacky custom ROMs.
