Here is the tutorial to jailbreak iOS 4.2 using Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2g. Albeit resn0w 0.9.6b1 is designed for iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.1 only, but according to Musclenerd the tool can be utilized to jailbreak iOS 4.2 beta too. But of course the result will be less optimized.
